Snow, as far as the eye can see… The vast skiing area on the Stubai Glacier covers over 1,450 hectares. Of which, 205 hectares are fully prepared. This amounts to 104 km of effective track sections for carving and enjoyment on blue, red and black slopes and ski routes that have been awarded the Tyrolean "Piste Quality Seal". Twenty-six modern cable car and lift systems provide the fastest route to the summit.
SLOPES
Alluring deep snow slopes, unspoilt descents, reliable snow conditions, a proliferation of options and numerous freeriding opportunities make the Stubai Glacier in Tyrol one of the best freeride destinations in Austria. There are two main points of interest for freeride enthusiasts on the Stubai Glacier: charted descents and safety management. Fifteen freeride runs on open free ski terrain are listed on an off-piste map and available as GPS-tracks; route videos indicate the route details visually and at the Freeride Checkpoint at Eisgrat and Gamsgarten, there are info boards with route descriptions, transceiver checks and the latest information concerning avalanches.
Safety equipment required for freeriding tours can be rented in the sports shops situated on the Stubai Glacier. There is a training area at Gamsgarten to make sure use of the equipment is optimal. The use of avalanche transceivers and avalanche probes can be tested here free of charge.

The Stubai Zoo on the Gaisskarferner is one of the largest terrain parks in Tyrol, open from autumn until well into spring.
